PyeongChang, South Korea – The prestigious RoboCup Asia-Pacific 2023 has officially commenced with an impressive opening ceremony at the Alpensia Convention Center, PyeongChang. Held from 10:00 to 10:30 AM, the ceremony marked the beginning of an event that showcases the latest advancements in robotics and artificial intelligence.
The ceremony was honored by the presence of several dignitaries and key figures in the field of robotics. Professor Changjiu Zhou, President of the RCAP Confederation, inaugurated the event and joining him were esteemed guests including Mr. Myung Sun Kim, Vice Governor of Gangwon State; Mr. Jae Kook Sim, Mayor of Pyeongchang County; Mr. Sung Hyun Choi, President of the Gangwon Tourism Organization; and Mr. Jun Tae Hyeon, Director General of the Tourism Bureau, Gangwon State.
The international robotics community was represented by Mr. Marko Zoricic, Counsellor of the Republic of Croatia in the Republic of Korea, and Professors Fernando Ribeiro and Jackrit Suthakorn, Trustees of the RoboCup Federation and the RoboCup Asia-Pacific Confederation respectively.
At the helm of the event organization were Mr. Sang Yong Han, General Chair of RoboCup Asia-Pacific 2023, and Professor Jae Kweon Han, General Co-Chair, who extended a warm welcome to all attendees and highlighted the importance of such gatherings in advancing the field of robotics.
The event attracted a diverse group of participants, including researchers, students, and professionals from the field of robotics and AI, along with enthusiasts and supporters from various parts of the world. The opening ceremony set a positive and collaborative tone for the days ahead, promising a blend of competition, innovation, and learning.
