August 22, 2026 — Beijing

The 2nd RoboCup Asia-Pacific (RCAP) Beijing Masters kicked off today at the Beijing National Speed Skating Oval (Ice Ribbon), held in conjunction with the 2nd World Humanoid Robot Games (WHRG 2026).

International Contingent consisting of RoboCuppers from 16 countries and regionsWHRG International Contingent is comprised of RoboCuppers from 16 countries and regions

The Games are jointly organized by the Beijing Municipal Government, China Media Group, the World Robot Cooperation Organization and the RoboCup Asia-Pacific (RCAP) Confederation.

RCAP has organized the participation of 24 teams from 16 countries and regions, comprising 14 teams in the Humanoid Soccer League’s Middle and Large divisions and 10 teams in RCAP CoSpace Humanoid OnStage. Representing Australia, Brazil, Germany, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, the Netherlands, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates, the United States, Macao SAR and Chinese Taipei, these teams were brought together through RCAP’s international invitation, coordination and qualification review process.

At their heart is the RCAP Beijing Masters, an official event of RCAP. Its 5-vs-5 Humanoid Soccer League (HSL), played in Large and Middle divisions, is the only competition at the Games that is fully autonomous and built on multi-agent systems: teams of robots perceive, decide and coordinate entirely on their own and, unlike the other fully autonomous events, do not rely on motion-capture rigs.

Both HSL divisions are played 5-vs-5 on a 22 m × 14 m field, under the RoboCup 2026 HSL rules adapted to the latest advances in humanoid robot technology. Qualified teams have been training in Beijing since August 7, with access to full-scale HSL training fields and a shared robot pool.

RCAP Humanoid OnStage is also under way, with students competing in RCAP CoSpace Humanoid OnStage across U12, U19 and University divisions. From today, Junior teams join mixed-nationality SuperTeams for the Humanoid OnStage SuperTeam competition on August 22–23.
