The 2nd World Humanoid Robot Games (WHRG) RoboCup Asia-Pacific (RCAP) Beijing Masters Closing Ceremony was held at The National Speed Skating Oval (Ice Ribbon)

August 26, 2026 — Beijing

The 2nd RoboCup Asia-Pacific (RCAP) Beijing Masters came to a close today at the Beijing National Speed Skating Oval (Ice Ribbon), capping five days of Humanoid Soccer League (HSL) competition at the 2nd World Humanoid Robot Games (WHRG 2026).

The Games are jointly organized by the Beijing Municipal Government, China Media Group, the World Robot Cooperation Organization and the RoboCup Asia-Pacific (RCAP) Confederation. At their heart is the RCAP Beijing Masters, an official event of RCAP, a proud member of RoboCup. Its 5-vs-5 Humanoid Soccer League (HSL), played in Large and Middle divisions, is the only competition at the Games that is fully autonomous and built on multi-agent systems: teams of robots perceive, decide and coordinate entirely on their own and, unlike the other fully autonomous events, do not rely on motion-capture rigs.

In the 5-vs-5 Large Division, Tsinghua Hephaestus (Tsinghua University, China) defended its title, with SPQR Team (Sapienza University of Rome, Italy) second and CAU Mountain & Sea (China Agricultural University, China) third. The 5-vs-5 Middle Division went to B-Human (Universität Bremen and the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence, Germany), ahead of HTWK Robots (HTWK Leipzig, Germany) and whIRLwind Amsterdam (University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands).

In the International Teams rankings, BBL (Brazil BART Lab), a joint team of TEAM BRAZIL (Brazil) and BART LAB (Mahidol University, Thailand), won the Large Division ahead of SPQR Team (Sapienza University of Rome, Italy) and Robotedge (Universiti Malaya, Malaysia). Special awards went to whIRLwind Amsterdam for Best Goalkeeper, RoboRoos (RMIT University, UNSW Sydney and the University of Newcastle, Australia) for Best Technical Innovation, and Seita Shimazaki (RFC Tsudanuma, Japan) for Best Referee.

After the closing ceremony, RCAP staged a full 11-vs-11 Middle Division match at the Panda Eye, where B-Human beat HTWhIRLK, a joint team of HTWK Robots and whIRLwind Amsterdam.

In Humanoid OnStage, PCMS-HRG and PCMSCO01, both from Macao SAR, China, won the U12 and U19 CoSpace Humanoid OnStage titles. In the mixed-nationality SuperTeam competition, “A small journey” — Presidential Lyceum No. 239 and RGB Box (Chinese Taipei) — won U12, while “The good things we do” — Presidential Lyceum No. 239, SG NgeeAnnSec Anvils (Singapore) and Tengri Vanguard (China) — won U19.

As a co-organizer of the Games, RCAP congratulates every team and thanks its fellow co-organizers — the Beijing Municipal Government, China Media Group and the World Robot Cooperation Organization — as well as the volunteers and partners who made the RCAP Beijing Masters possible. The full list of awards is available on the RCAP-BJM 2026 website.
